Abstract
Vitamin D3 and its analogues are useful compounds in the treatment of disorders of mineral metabolism. Careful monitoring of therapy with frequent determination of serum calcium levels is required in order to prevent toxicity. The roles and method of administration of newer vitamin D analogues are discussed.
