Abstract

Tissue characteristics that are relevant to breast tomography are discussed, including their material properties and methods of estimating them from B-mode images. Methods of transmission and reflection tomography in general, Doppler computed tomography, and coherent computed tomography are examined. The attributes of these various implementations for breast examination are assessed.
