Abstract

HFUPS is a new and evolving technology that provides detailed imaging of the gastrointestinal wall for the evaluation and staging of mucosal and submucosal lesions of the GI tract and pancreaticobiliary tree. In addition, it may provide useful information that may alter therapeutic strategies in patients with superficial lesions. At present, this technique is best reserved for use by centers with significant experience in EUS. Clinical outcome studies are necessary.
