Abstract
MR imaging is useful for characterizing collections of fat in and around the heart. This article illustrates the MR appearances of pericardial fat, epicardial and periaortic fat, intramural fatty involvement and intracavitary fat, with emphasis on the distinctions between fatty and nonfatty tumors.
