Lung transplantation: The pulmonary circulation and right heart

O. E. Pajaro, D. Nyhan

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

This chapter begins with an overview of some seminal issues in the area of lung transplantation. The discussion focuses on graft injury and the role of ischemia-reperfusion. The mechanisms underlying ischemia-reperfusion injury and strategies aimed at ameliorating graft injury are also discussed. Specific issues related to pulmonary vascular and right heart dysfunction in the setting of lung transplantation are emphasized.
