Abstract
The passive stiffness E is inversely calculated by relating the external work done to the left ventricle based on the measured chamber pressure and volume, and the strain energy for E equals 1 in the left ventricle determined using finite-element analysis of the videoroentgen angiograms recorded during diastole. A pressure-dependent E equation derived from multiple frames imaged during diastole is presented.
