Abstract

Initial attempts are described at reconstructing the three-dimensional distribution of acoustic impedances within a structure from its two-dimensional projection of ultrasonic energy obtained in the form of a C scan. The distributions of acoustic impedances is obtained using an algebraic reconstruction technique, under the assumption that reflection and refraction problems are negligible. 8 refs.
