Therapeutic Advances in GI Malignancies - Fifth Annual Conference

The Therapeutic Advances in GI Malignancies meeting highlighted the rapid changes that are occurring in oncology. Emphasis was placed on the need to understand molecular pathways and the abnormalities that arise in these pathways as potential targets for therapy. Participants noted the importance of focusing on clinical trials that are designed based on pathway signatures rather than on the organ-site of the cancer in order to fully exploit targeted therapy.
