Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Awareness and diagnosis of spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) are increasing, as this has been recently realized as an important cause of myocardial infarction in women. The mechanism of SCAD is different than atherosclerosis, with a relatively younger patient demographic and natural history. These differences influence the approach to management. Herein, current knowledge regarding SCAD is reviewed with a focus on presentation, diagnosis, and management.
