Abstract

Radiotherapy is the treatment of choice for most stages of cervical carcinoma therapy. However, for advanced stages the success rate falls significantly. This paper will discuss the use of hyperbaric oxygen, blood transfusions, hypoxic cell sensitizers, chemotherapy, and altered fractionation schedules to improve the therapeutic ratio of patients treated with radiotherapy for advanced cervical carcinoma.
