Abstract

Gene therapy holds promise as a novel method to improve the treatment of a broad range of spinal disorders. This update describes recent progress that has been made towards the application of gene therapy to the solution of two formidable problems in the clinical treatment of spinal disorders, intervertebral disc degeneration, and non-, union/delayed union in spinal fusion.
