Abstract

We report the identification of nine DNA polymorphisms in PSPLA1 encoding phosphatidylserinespecific phospholipase A1. Because the gene product shares homology with triglyceride lipases, these polymorphisms may be useful in association studies with metabolic traits such as hypertriglyceridemia and related lipoprotein abnormalities, and will also provide tools for mapping studies of chromosome 3q13.13-13.2.
