Abstract

NNT is a useful and clinically meaningful measure for assessing treatment efficacy. NNT is the reciprocal of the absolute risk reduction and is easy to calculate. NNT quantities absolute benefits and risks of treatment, unlike relative risk reduction, odds ratio, and other methods of reporting results of therapeutic studies.
