Leadless pacing and defibrillation systems

Intravascular leads are the most vulnerable component of conventional pacemakers and defibrillators. This article discusses the current state of technology for leadless cardiac devices in the treatment of bradycardia and for reducing sudden cardiac death caused by tachyarrhythmias.
