Abstract

The K distribution has been shown to be a good statistical model for the ultrasound echo envelope in terms of the scatterer statistics of the medium. We use this model to study the properties of the envelope moments, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) function, and, the log compression in terms of the scatterer statistics.
