Abstract

Many laboratory tests are much easier to obtain than they were a few years ago. These important tools include assays for DNA to establish paternity or to diagnose a sexually transmitted disease. Others include tests for hepatitis C, HIV RNA, thyroid hormones, and several cardiac assays.
