Abstract
A new method of reconstructing the beating heart is described. The method uses a segmentation scheme taken from computer vision theory to obtain estimates of the stationary portion of the thorax. The moving portions (heart and circulatory blood) are estimated via Kalman filters. Results of computer simulations using the algorithm are presented.
