Abstract

The development of a complete computer-aided-design (CAD) system, operating in a VAX/VMS computing environment and intended for the design and verification of large signal processors implemented with gallium arsenide semicustom integrated circuits, is described. The special features of the CAD system which make it particularly attractive for use with the rapidly evolving set of GaAs technologies are described, as well as its ability to retarget a design among multiple technologies with different electrical and performance characteristics. The ability of the CAD system to model the electromagnetic environment of chip packages and circuit boards is also discussed.
