Abstract

We describe a case of hepatic splenosis that was misdiagnosed as hepatocellular cancer in a patient undergoing liver transplant evaluation. Although a rare entity, hepatic splenosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of liver lesions in patients with a history of splenic trauma or splenectomy. Accurate diagnosis is important not only for patient care and treatment but also for implications regarding liver transplantation.
