Abstract

Headache is one of the most common of human afflictions. Because most headaches are not caused by serious or life-threatening conditions, however, their significance as an early manifestation of serious neurologic disease may be underestimated. This article emphasizes neurologic illnesses that have the potential for devastating consequences if they go unrecognized.
