Abstract

The manuscript entitled 'The 2019 n2c2/UMass Lowell shared task on clinical concept normalization' by Yen-Fu Luo, Sam Henry, Yanshan Wang, Feichen Shen, Ozlem Uzuner and Anna Rumshisky, has been submitted by the authors as a replacement for the originally published version. In the originally published version of this manuscript, several errors relating to the study were noted. A corrigendum has been published to address the following amendments that have been embedded in the new version: The title should read: "The 2019 n2c2/UMass Lowell shared task on clinical concept normalization"instead of "The 2019 National Natural language processing (NLP) Clinical Challenges (n2c2)/Open Health NLP (OHNLP) shared task on clinical concept normalization for clinical records". The names of co-first author Yen-Fu Luo and co-author Anna Rumshisky were erroneously omitted. The author list has since been corrected, as shown above, with the reinstated authors’ affiliations included. Revisions in the abstract and introduction were made to reflect the original motivation for the task. In the Discussion section, the sub-section “Concept Category” was erroneously omitted. The sub-section has since been instated with figure 5 added. In addition to other minor clarifications and corrections made, amendments were also made to the acknowledgements, funding, author contributions and references sections. Due to the above listed revisions, the page range should be pages 1529–e1, instead of pages 1529–1537.
