Abstract

Wide-angle colonoscopy does not appear to improve adenoma detection, based on the current data. The fullspectrum endoscope improves adenoma detection but requires additional study. Improvement in adenoma detection with cap-fitted colonoscopy is marginal. The Pentax Retroview colonoscope and the next generation of accessory devices including the Endocuff, EndoRings, G-Eye balloon, and TEP demonstrate initial potential and promise but will require further evaluation in larger studies.
