N2 - Picosecond grating spectroscopy is a source of tunable ultrasound in the frequency range from a few MHz to tens of GHz. These ultrasound waves can be used to investigate the mechanical properties of biological materials and tissue. The knowledge of the acoustic properties of tissue in this frequency range is important in order to understand the propagation of shock waves in tissue.
