Abstract

Acute renal failure is a rare but potentially devastating complication of pregnancy. Among its many potential causes is acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis. We describe a case of acute renal failure during pregnancy, provide the histologic features of the renal biopsy, and discuss the differential diagnosis. Postinfectious glomerulo-nephritis can present rapidly after clinical infection and cause acute renal failure in pregnancy.
