Abstract
The non-immune, non-spherocytic anemias result from multiple potential etiologies. We report a 16-year-old girl, who was presented with a long-standing anemia and normal blood screening tests except an elevated hemoglobin F. Her diagnosis of unstable hemoglobinopathy was made only after gene sequencing of the β-globin chain.
