A Comparative Physiologist’s Journey Into the Field of Sex- and Gender-Specific Medicine

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

A career path may take many unexpected twists, turns, and detours before ending in an unexpected place. Mine was one such journey that started in the high school classroom and ended as Director of a Women’s Health Research Program advocating for sex- and gender-specific medicine. Along the way, I found purpose, passion, collaborations, friendships, and resolutions. These relationships helped to develop a new area of scientific investigation and cleared a path for others to follow.
