Regulation of Necroptosis and inflammation

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Narrative Parkin deletion/mutation is linked to Parkinson's Disease and cancer, although the cellular function of Parkin and how Parkin deletion/mutation contributes to disease remain unclear. Here we identify a new role of Parkin in the regulation of necroptosis, a cell death mechanism causing inflammation. As inflammation is linked to tumorigenesis, we will test whether this function of Parkin is important for tumor suppression.
